We believe the water we drink and the nature that nourishes us deserve meaningful investment.
Thankfully, there’s funding available in the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to help us reach our goals. To ensure just and climate-smart spending of those dollars, we need to communicate through culture, traditional and digital media, and also policy.
To help mobilize your base and move media and policymakers, we collaborated with cultural organizers and artists to develop materials that speak to three core priorities: flood justice, the human right to water and sanitation, and living with drought and weather whiplash.
Flood Justice
Flood justice is social justice which is why we’re calling for more nature-based solutions like replacing pavement with plants in cities and restoring wetland habitats to clean, slow, and sink water into the ground.
We can transform flooding hotspots to community-led resilience hubs if we fund the right projects.

Human Right to Water and Sanitation
People overwhelmingly agree water is a human right. In fact, safe drinking water tops the list of voters’ infrastructure spending priorities.
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act funds are helping communities get lead pipes out of homes, test for and treat PFAS, and build or update water systems in disadvantaged communities. Let’s celebrate this progress, while making it clear that more funds are needed to achieve universal access to safe water and sanitation.

Living with Drought and Weather Whiplash
From dry wells to deluge, climate change will bring more weather whiplash across the U.S., and recent events underscore the importance of adapting our landscapes to make the most of rain and runoff.
Fortunately, federal dollars are helping to scale work in forests, farms, and floodplains from the Colorado River, to the Klamath Basin and Mississippi River Valley. While this is a great start, we know that we need more.
